Chicago

3 day business trip to the Windy City yielded a few pictures. Mostly I was working (or commuting), but I managed to swing a few free minutes, and there were good things to check out since my hotel was downtown.

Night #1 of course I got the famous deep dish pizza. Or "pizza", actually. That's not pizza.
Then a quick jaunt through Millennium Park which turned into a super quick jaunt as we got called in for a meeting. Had enough time to pose with the shiny peanutty cloud gate. (I am somewhere in the very tiny middle of this picture)
(I knew it was 95 degrees outside and still couldn't convince myself to leave my sweatshirt at the hotel. Seattle has me conditioned too well)

Fort Worth

First stop Saturday morning - winery.
Now there's a good intersection.

Next stop - Cowtown / Forth Worth Stock Yards. Of course the daily cattle drive is important. Check it out - they actually do have long horns.

Also there were miniature horses.
And a rodeo! This was not the normal weekly rodeo but instead it was the North Texas High School Finals. Definitely entertaining.Since the weather is so nice, there are lots of rooftop bars.

Right.

Jen finally put on the cowboy hat she didn't like.

Pancake breakfast Sunday morning - we'd been talking about pancakes for a while Saturday night.

Meetkats! I'm pretty sure these are the cutest animals ever. There's one hiding behind me, if you can see it.

Dallas

First stop upon arrival to Dallas was Tex-Mex. Yum!

Then to Pioneer Plaza, to see the bronze cattle drive, a "must see" on one's Dallas trip.

Fountain across the street. Earlier they were golfing into the fountain, so that guy is scooping up the floating golf balls.

Next onto the Sixth Street Museum, the location from which JFK was shot. We couldn't take pictures inside, so this is the outside.
The grassy knoll is next door.

These cool buildings are across the street.

The memorial is a few blocks over.

Last stop before we picked Jen up at the airport was to buy a cowboy hat! The store also had many cowboy boots.
