Paris in a Day

A couple hours before I left for the Seattle airport, I found out that there were no hotel rooms available in Tel Aviv for Tuesday night. Alas, I would have to have a 1 day/1 night layover in Paris. As disappointed as I was, I managed to make the best of my time in Paris.

It is not easy to be a whirlwind when you are very tired, but I managed. I got way more than my money's worth of my Metro day pass. Don't get me wrong: I walked a LOT. But I also did a lot of popping up, sightseeing, and popping back down into the tunnels.

Stop numero uno (yep, my French is quite lacking lately. Luckily everyone's English is good) was Notre Dame. No hunchbacks.

Then onto getting lost for a bit, but I saw some good stuff while walking around lost (as I usually do. It's not really lost, just misplaced). Then since I was in the complete wrong area, I hopped on the Metro again to get myself to Le Louvre. I got lucky with that - Tuesday it is closed, but Wednesday (and Monday) it is open extra late. I kept thinking of The DaVinci Code, and of course saw the Mona Lisa, which the French spell with two n's. No one died while I was there.

...

By the time I got out of there the sun had set, so it was time to hit the monuments... I ate dinner on a bench people-watching at the Arc de Triomphe.

And then I jumped over to the Eiffel Tower, of course. (please do not notice that I cut off part of my face)

I even went all the way to the top (except this is a picture from partway up. but it looks the same). I actually think the tower was better from the outside. Especially because this view was blurry. Or it could be that I don't know how to use my camera.

Now it is almost midnight and I am back at the hotel, because I am lame and did not go to the Moulin Rouge. I guess I'll have to come back again later!

Still in Seattle

This is my first post.
I am going to Israel tomorrow. I just found this out.
I wonder if they have any Space Needles there.
